Why the name? Because my maggie is perched on an armchair which was once owned by the heiress and arts patron, Ann Getty ... and it was just too tempting to make a play on the Gettysburg Adress by President Abraham Lincoln in 1863. The 19th Century armchair was reupholstered with Persian Resht embroidery fabric acquired by Getty. It has been reimagined by me to include pearls. The wallpaper is 'The lolanthe', designed by English architect and designer C. F. A. Voysey, made in 1897 and, again, recoloured by me.
